BIOGRAPHY

Having had the pleasure of my childhood being molded by the fascinating part of our world wherein the brothers Grimm once roamed, my imagination has been fueled by it for as long as I can remember. My earliest experiences are defined by powerful memories of having grown up alongside my family and traveled throughout many different homes, many different cities due to our refugee status. Presumably, in my situation, worldly goods were never at my fingertips. As our cinematic era has engrained in us, my reality can be perceived by others as grey and misunderstood; my ability to communicate was often challenged due to language barriers I had to surpass, and I was forced to live within the confines of my mind. To many, this might be a traumatizing situation, but to me it was freedom. My imagination has always been my home. Where many saw cardboard and couch cushion, I saw the tools to build a rocking horse. Where many saw a stick and string, I saw a bow and arrow. That would allow me to be anywhere, at any time, regardless of the current state of affairs.

A problem solver by nature, I cannot sit still. I am a compulsive decorator, as well as a teacher for the sheer purpose of the delight of seeing others learn and expand their minds. I love to be challenged on an overwhelming basis. I love to see my peers question our world, our existence. I see the potential in every possible problem. At the risk of placing myself within a complete niche, having exclaimed my love of the macabre, I would like to quote the master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe, by saying “I do not suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.” Everything I have done thus far and continue to do has been a challenging and exciting equation that I am solving to the best of my knowledge
